Melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation

So-called melasma can occur in women in association with pregnancy or use of oral hormonal contraception. Brown spots also develop as a consequence of inadequately treated acne. We can assist with both conditions through a combination of several approaches.

How it works

Initially, it is advisable to schedule a consultation during which the physician will determine your tattoo type, quality of pigments used, and establish the temporal and financial requirements for tattoo removal and which technologies to employ.

We remove tattoos using lasers that vaporise the surface skin layer, lasers that selectively bind to pigment, or collagen pulsed lamps. These methods are appropriately combined.

Complete tattoo removal may require only a single treatment; sometimes more are necessary. The number of treatments depends on the quality of the pigment used. Certain colour types are more difficult to remove than others. Tattoos are more easily removed from areas with frequent movement such as fingers or neck.

Sun-induced spots

These spots can appear anywhere on the body, most commonly in areas exposed to intense solar radiation – back, shoulders. Removal of these spots is straightforward for us.

How it works

In the case of sun-induced spots, only a laser with affinity for brown pigment is required. Immediately following flash exposure, the brown colour is converted to grey and the entire patch exfoliates within a week.

Seborrhoeic keratoses

This type of keratosis occurs in people over thirty years of age. These are large surface friable growths. If you have concerns with these specifically, we know how to address them.

How it works

Removal is straightforward and single-session. Seborrhoeic keratoses are best removed with vaporisation laser. The treated area requires plaster coverage for several days and subsequently, during summer months, application of UV protection creams.
